Employers who hire skilled human resources from third countries must fulfil various obligations. Before employment begins, it must be checked whether their universtiy diploma corresponds to a German university degree, a declaration on the employment terms must be completed and the visa is correct. The validity of the visa and later the Blue Card must be monitored and the employer will be held liable if the staff’s resident permit has expired, employers are generally aware of these processes, what is less well known is when an employee from a non-EU country leaves the country, the responsible immigration authority and Federal Employment Agency must be informed.
