At the beginning of the month I registered Abiodun in Aachen

Abiodun from Nigeria recently arrived in Frankfurt at the airport and in only 4 days with our support he took all the important steps to find his way in his new home Aachen. Registering at the citizens’ office and opening a bank account are of great importance for all new residents in Germany and we have successfully supported Abiodun.

After his arrival on 02.04. he was picked up by me at Aachen train station and accompanied to the boardinghouse where he will live for the next weeks. With a cozy place to sleep and relax, he can focus directly on other important things.

After 2 days of settling in and getting to know the new colleagues in person, we went to Bürgeramt together to register him. This registration is mandatory for all residents in Germany and serves to register the residence. Well prepared, we were able to successfully complete the registration very quickly with Abiodun.

After registration we opened the bank account. We visited the bank branch directly and were able to successfully open the account with the correct documents here as well.

While there have certainly been some challenges for him, Abiodun has shown that it is possible to arrive quickly and effectively in a new city if you focus on the most important tasks and get the support you need.

I’m looking forward to the next steps of our Getting Started Comfort Package – Home Finding is coming up.
