Koblenz sits where the Rhine and Moselle meet, surrounded by the Hunsrück, Eifel and Westerwald hills. The Romans founded the city more than 2,000 years ago. After the destruction of the Second World War, the old town was carefully rebuilt, so today Koblenz combines historic buildings with a spacious, modern cityscape. Summers are pleasantly warm and winters tend to be cool and grey. The surrounding area is at its best between June and September.
