An application for the EU Blue Card can be made online in some countries and in certain regions. However here in Germany it is only possible if the employee is initially traveling without family and if they live in the selected official regions. Subsequent family reunification will of course be possible. We recently had our first experience with the pilot project and it was positive. On behalf of a client, we supported the relocation of an assignee from India who was living in Stockholm, Sweden. There were no visa application appointments available in the regular procedure for the next 8 weeks. We submitted the visa application online and within 3 weeks, the assignee received an appointment to record their biometric at the German Embassy there.
